After the Launch
Hello everyone!
After a year of work on this game I finally decided to launch the game. It's been a real rough time ever since, so I couldn't spend that much time on game development. But finally I feel like I might be stabilizing a little bit and I'm already working on my next project.
Looking back at the journey of Kaede Keeper, I can say that it was a great experience with a lot of lessons learnt. I got to experience the whole game development process, from initial prototype, to finally publishing the game.
Although my background is in arts, I was surprised on how much I could achieve in terms of code by scavenging trough web, watching tutorials and figuring stuff out by myself. I learnt so much about game architecture. Now I have a strong basis to go from when building future projects.
Of course there was a lot of hang ups and bugs that took a lot of time to figure out, and at points, "I felt like I'm going to lose me mind - yarrr." But looking back at it I understand that some things just require more time to settle and you need to focus on the next small thing you can do, instead of obsessing about a small hick up.
In conclusion - If you have a dream and a burning passion for something, you must do that thing otherwise your life seems bleak and meaningless. And I'm so happy I went trough this project and finished it to the best of my capabilities. And that's what I wish for anyone who has something they have a desire for - stick trough the hard parts and at the end you'll see how great the journey is.
